What the Digital Streaming Add-On Offers

1. An Add-On to Your Existing Performance License

The Digital Streaming Add-On is designed to sit on top of one of our core licenses:

• Single-Class License + Digital Streaming Add-On
• School License + Digital Streaming Add-On
• District License + Digital Streaming Add-On

It does not replace your performance license. Instead, it expands how you can share your performance with families and your school community.

Example

A 4th-grade teacher has a Single-Class License. They record the final performance on a phone or camera, then use the Digital Streaming Add-On to legally share that recording with families for a limited time.

2. Time-Limited Streaming Rights

With this add-on, you may stream a pre-recorded performance of your production for a defined, time-limited window:

• Share a streaming link for families who couldn’t attend in person
• Offer a short replay window after performance night
• Allow staff and administrators to view the show at their convenience

The specific viewing window (for example, 2–4 weeks around your performance dates) is outlined in your license confirmation.

Example

Your school performs the musical in March. With the Digital Streaming Add-On, families receive a private streaming link that stays active for two weeks after the final performance date.

3. Where You Can Host Your Stream

You can choose a hosting solution that fits your school’s technology and policies, such as:

• A password-protected page on your school or district website
• A private link on your district’s LMS (Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, etc.)
• An unlisted video on YouTube or similar, where the link is only shared with your community
• A private Vimeo link or a district-approved video platform

Example

The principal posts an unlisted YouTube link on a password-protected parent portal. Families log in and watch the performance at home during the streaming window.

4. Who Can Watch

The Digital Streaming Add-On is designed for your immediate school community:

• Family members and caregivers of participating students
• Students and staff at your school (or district, if paired with a District License)
• Administrators, school board members, and invited community partners

Example

Grandparents and relatives in another state can’t attend in person, but they can watch the streaming performance link that their family receives.

5. What You May Record & Stream

With the add-on, you may:

• Record a full performance of your licensed production
• Lightly edit the recording (e.g., titles, simple transitions)
• Upload that recording to an approved platform
• Share the streaming link during the agreed viewing window

Example

The tech team combines video from two cameras into a single edited file (front-of-house and closer stage angles) and then uploads that file to a private link.

6. What the Digital Streaming Add-On Does Not Cover

To keep things clear and fair, here is what is outside the scope of this add-on:

• Public posting of the full show as on-demand entertainment
• Permanent, unlimited online availability of the full performance
• Selling digital downloads of the show as a commercial product
• Use without a valid Single-Class, School, or District License
