Frequently Asked Questions

Licensing & Permissions

Questions about what your license covers, which option to choose, and how pricing works.

On the license checkout page you’ll see several options:

Single-Class License – One class with one primary teacher. Includes core materials (scripts, booklets, audio) and a single-class performance license.
School License – Use across your school, with multiple classes and typically up to three in-person performances.
District License – Approved use across multiple schools in your district.
Digital Streaming Add-On – Adds limited streaming/recording rights on top of an existing live performance license.
Christmas Carols License – A separate bundle for 6 Christmas carols with melody vocals, backing tracks, and performance rights.

All of these are requested through the License Checkout form. That form collects your details and gives you an estimated fee; we then follow up with a formal quote and payment link before you receive your downloads.
Yes, streaming and recording are covered by the Digital Streaming Add-On rather than the basic live performance license. On the license checkout page, you can choose the streaming add-on by itself or in combination with a Single-Class, School, or District license. This keeps the live performance fee affordable while still honoring the extra rights involved in streaming or posting video online.
For multiple schools, you’ll want to request a District License on the license checkout page. District licenses are designed for districtwide print and performance rights, and the fee is scaled from the School License to stay educator-friendly. If you’re unsure which option fits your situation, choose “District License” and share details in the notes field; we can adjust the quote if needed.

Downloads, Access Codes & Technology

Support for your ZIP files, audio, PDFs, passwords, and basic technical troubleshooting.

The License Checkout form does not charge your card directly. After you submit it, we review your details, confirm the appropriate license type and term, and send an itemized summary with either an invoice or a secure payment link. Once payment is processed, you’ll receive links and/or passwords to download your ZIP packages from PlymouthRock.org (for example, plymouthrock_single_class.zip or christmas_carols_bundle.zip).
First, check the email address used on your license request or payment, including your spam and junk folders, for a message with “PlymouthRock.org” in the subject line. Look for references to a ZIP filename such as plymouthrock_school_license.zip or christmas_carols_bundle.zip.

If you still can’t find it, contact Support with your school name, location, approximate order date, and which license you requested. We can resend your access details or reset your password if needed.
Most devices can play our MP3 files using built-in players such as Windows Media Player, QuickTime, or the default music app. Try saving the MP3s from the ZIP to your computer first, then open them from a local folder instead of streaming directly from the browser or email.

If you’re still having trouble, let us know what device and software you’re using (for example, “Windows 10 laptop with Windows Media Player”) and we’ll help you troubleshoot.

History Units, Readings & Worksheets

How to use the classroom materials and what’s included with each package.

The history units are designed as flexible, print-and-teach resources for grades 3–5. They typically include:

• Short readings and narratives inspired by Plymouth Rock, the Pilgrims, and the Wampanoag/Patuxet people
• Guided discussion questions
• Primary and secondary source connections
• Writing prompts
• Creative arts activities
• Print-and-go worksheets (timelines, maps, vocabulary, close reading, and more)

These can stand alone as a focused Plymouth Rock unit or be woven into your existing social studies and literacy plans.
Yes, as long as they’re part of the same school or purchasing organization that holds the license. We simply ask that materials not be posted publicly online or emailed broadly outside your school. This helps protect the work of the authors, artists, and educators who created them while keeping the pricing school-friendly.
The history units support common 3rd–5th grade social studies and ELA skills such as close reading, summarizing, perspective-taking, and speaking/listening. Because standards vary by state, we don’t list one single framework, but teachers often find it easy to map specific readings and activities to their local standards and district pacing guides.

Christmas Carols & Seasonal Music

Support for the Christmas bundle, rehearsal tracks, and performance options.

The Christmas Carols License is a separate option on the license checkout form and typically includes:

• 6 Christmas carol arrangements (MP3 with melody vocals)
• 6 matching backing tracks (MP3, no lead vocal)
• Lyrics sheets (PDF)
• A performance license (usually for one primary concert or event, as described in your terms)
• In some cases, a “Bundle All 6 Songs” variant so everything is in one download

This bundle is designed to be budget-friendly for schools, churches, and community choirs that want high-quality tracks without a complex licensing process.
In typical school and church settings, a modest ticket price or free-will offering is fine under the Christmas license. If you’re planning a large commercial production, tour, or broadcast, please mention that on the license checkout form so we can confirm that your license matches your plans.
Christmas pricing follows the same educator-first approach described in our “How We Arrived at the Pricing Structure” article for the musical. The license checkout page will show an estimated fee based on your selections (for example, how you’re using the music), and we finalize that amount in your invoice so there are no surprises.
