Where’d they take you this time? 

PLYMOUTH ROCK
They brought me to Pilgrim Hall,
but not before I had another accident.
Can you believe I rolled off the cart
they loaded me on and fell into the street? 

TEACHER
If you look closely, you can still
see the crack across the rock’s face.

Oh wow, I see it! I can see it!

How’d they protect you in front of Pilgrim Hall? 

PLYMOUTH ROCK
The people of Plymouth
made me a small fence enclosure,
and although it kept me safe
from the chiseling souvenir-hunters,
it also kept the visitors from getting close to me.
I wasn’t happy in this new spot.
I still enjoyed seeing people everyday
but I thought about my original home on the beach.
I thought about Mr. Seagull and Madame Crab.
Oh, how I missed the sights and sounds of the sea!
